Fun with Data Handling - Activity!

Activity 1: The Sorting Station 

• Students were given a diverse collection of buttons and beads of various sizes and colours. The goal was to bring order to the chaos! 
• Students had to observe the attributes of each item and segregate them into specific groups (e.g., "all red beads" or "large buttons").
• After sorting, they recorded their findings on a worksheet, turning physical objects into clear, written data.

Activity 2: The Dice Roll Challenge

• We used dice to explore frequency and repetition.
• Each student rolled a die ten times, carefully noting down the result of every single roll.
• Once the "data collection" was complete, students looked back at their results to see which numbers appeared most often. They then filled out a frequency box on their worksheets to show how many times each number (1–6) was rolled.
