Topic :  Little Hands, Big Discoveries: A Kinaesthetic Dough Adventure
Our Class 1 learners swapped their pencils for dough in a hands-on Kinaesthetic Learning Activity. By engaging their sense of touch, students explored the physical properties of matter while strengthening the tiny muscles in their hands.
The classroom transformed into a "mini-bakery" where every child received a portion of fresh wheat dough. We guided them through six specific movements to explore how the dough reacts to force:

  • Pressing: Using palms to flatten the dough into "pancakes."
  • Squeezing: Testing grip strength to see the dough ooze through fingers.
  • Stretching: Learning about elasticity and seeing how far the dough can go before it snaps.
  • Bending: Folding the dough to create shapes and arches.
  • Rolling: Developing coordination to create long "snakes" or smooth spheres.
  • Poking: Using fingertips to create deep craters and textures.
